Holiday Cheer

Drawn from the terminal while we waited for our flight to New York on Christmas eve. This was cut a little short when the plane took off.

Here's another one I did really quickly. This is our Christmas tree in pen and ink. In real life it's topped with a novelty hat that says "World's Best Santa," but somehow I just wasn't able to work that in.

Ink-Stained Hands

I've been playing around with ink drawing and ink washes lately. It's a chaotic and difficult medium that I'm a long way from mastering, but it's also lots of fun.

Truck for Sale

I drew this on my lunch break a couple of weeks ago. New Orleans is one of the most beautiful cities in the world but, unfortunately, I work out in the 'burbs in a sea of strip malls and warehouses where there aren't many interesting things to draw. I did think this truck was kind of appealing though; it seemed a little sad parked out among the weeds with its hood cracked open. If anyone is interested in giving it a good home, I believe it is still sitting out on Elmwood Park Boulevard.

This Frog is Giving 110%

From a photo in National Geographic that my stepmother kindly left at my house. I should also note that I had this classic film in mind while I was working on this drawing.

Starting with a Few From the Vaults

What the world needs now is another blog. The internet is dangerously low on cranks and amateurs spewing forth all of their poorly formed ideas, crackpot theories, lousy music, and art that is barely fit to hang in the lobby of a Holiday Inn. I’ve decided to address this terrible derth by throwing my hat in the ring, along with my pencil, pen, and charcoal. Here are a couple of older selections from my sketchbook to get things started. I like to think that I'll be able to keep this updated on a semi-regular basis, but I make no promises.
